Brief Introduction of the Keynote Speaker
Wenbin Lv, Statistics Professor of North Carolina State University, is also honored as a distinguished professor at Central China Normal University. He studied Probability and Statistics at Peking University from 1995 to 1999, holding a Bachelor’s degree. During 1999 and 2003, Lv finished his Doctoral study at the Department of Statistics of Columbia University. In 2017, Prof. Lv was elected as a member of theASA Fellow. From 2013 to 2015, he was one of the Board of Directors at ICSA. Prof. Lv is titled as the subeditor in many leading Statistics magazines, includingBiometrics, BiostatisticsandStatistica Sinica.
Professor Lv’s domain of research includes Statistics Learning and Machine Learning Methods, High-dimensional Data Analysis, Social Network Data Analysis, Survival Data as well as Longitudinal Data Analysis in Precision Medicine and Individual Decision Making. He published more than 60 articles in worlds’ leading statistics magazines, including no less than 10 articles in the top four magazines, namelyBiometrika,JASA,JRSS-BandAnnals of Statistics.Prof. Lv has supervised 15 Doctor graduates, many of them have been awarded with “Distinctive Student Essays” by American’s Statistics Conferences such as JSM and ENAR.
