The 10th International Conference on Educational Data Mining successfully held


On June 25, 2017, The 10th International Conference on Educational Data Mining, initiated and organized by the International Educational Data Mining Society (IEDMS) and hosted by Central China Normal University saw nearly two hundred experts in the field of Educational Data Mining in Wuhan. This is the first time for this series of international conference to be held in China. The local organizing chair, Prof. Xiangen Hu with CCNU extended warm welcome to guests from home and abroad.  

Doctor Ronald Cole of Boulder Language Technologies, Associate Prof. Jie Tang of Tsinghua University were invited to make keynote speeches on ‘The Evolution of Virtual Tutors, Clinician, and Companions: A 20-Year Perspective on Conversational Agents in Real-World Applications’ and ‘Can AI help MOOCs’.

Topics in the conference included assessment, affect and engagement, educational resources, learner behaviors, collaborative learning, knowledge tracing, pedagogical policies etc.

The conference created wonderful chances for academic exchanges for researchers in the relevant field and presentation for young researchers, especially doctoral students. The conference ended successfully on June 28th, 2017.
